News > NEW RULES FOR WOODEN INSPECTION

IB Freight - 04/01/2016

Aiming to avoid the risk of introducing and disseminating of pests in our country, the MAPA (Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply) has determined new rules of inspection and certification of packages of supports made of wood of importing or exporting goods, from/to Brazil.

The packages, pieces/supports should receive thermal treatment or be dryed at kiln. Moreover, they will need thermal treatment by dielectric heating with microwave and fumigation with methyl bromide.

The new rules published at the Normative Instruction nº32, September 24th, 2015 are also for the packages that have not received processing enough to remove the pests, as boxes, crates, wooden stowage etc.
